2023 Q4: What's New at Owen Legacy Group

What's New at the Owen Legacy Group

2023 Q4 Edition

MORGAN OWEN, CFP®

Senior Vice President, Financial Advisor, Portfolio Manager

Morgan and his family had a busy fall enjoying the unseasonably warm weather. Morgan went to North Dakota with his dad Tim for a pheasant hunting trip in October. North Dakota never disappoints; there are always plenty of birds. They have been busy teaching Oliver how to ice skate. He is picking it up quickly and will soon be playing hockey just like his dad. They were also blessed to be able to travel as a family to California for the holidays. It was nice to spend some quality time and celebrate with Marisa’s family which they have not done since the pandemic. The Owens are looking forward to another great winter and spending as many days as possible on the slopes.

ANNE ASHTON, CFP®, CWS®

Senior Vice President, Financial Advisor, Portfolio Manager

The Ashton family has had a wonderful fourth quarter and is so grateful for the delayed winter. Though they would usually be hitting the slopes most weekends, the warmer weather allowed for other adventures. They were able to spend a week in Boise with Cole’s family, have a wonderful Thanksgiving in Red Lodge with cousins, and take an impromptu trip to Hawaii with their close friends. The horseback riding and bird hunting have been great, so great in fact that Anne bought a new horse, Archer, from Texas. Archer is also very grateful for the mild weather. Now that we are in 2024, real winter is settling in, and the skis are coming out. The Ashton family hopes to see you up at Bridger Bowl someday soon.

BRENDA KITTO, CFP®, CWS®

Vice President, Portfolio Manager, Assistant Branch Manager

It is always amazing how the days and months seem to fly by, especially as the year comes to an end.  In late October, Brenda was able to enjoy a few days in the warm Scottsdale sun just as her middle daughter Jenna finished up the Bozeman Hawk Volleyball season.  A few weeks later, Brenda was caregiving as Jenna had a minor surgery to repair a meniscus tear, and her husband Jeff also had two minor procedures done.  November and December, of course, brought the ever enjoyable Bobcat football games, several holiday gatherings, and even some week long family member visits.  Luckily, the snow finally fell in Bozeman, and Brenda was able to take a week off over the Christmas holiday to spend time with family playing games, enjoying company, and learning to ice skate again – she even helped her youngest granddaughter hop on the ice as well. It is safe to say they both loved it!  Her amateur skater tip – wear long socks.  Brenda is very excited for the new year and has big plans for travel.  If you have suggestions, please feel free to share.  Here’s to 2024.

ALLEGRA MOHR

Client Associate

This fall and winter season has been a blast for the Mohr family. Allegra has really enjoyed the mild winter and the gentle transition from Tennessee life. The fall season was spent with friends and family enjoying hay mazes, pumpkin carving, and lots of good food. The holidays for the Mohrs were nice and peaceful with a drive to Spokane to see family for Thanksgiving, and a relaxing Christmas at home. The highlight of this quarter for the Mohrs was a day of skiing for the first time. With no better teacher than Allegra’s dad, they were able to slowly get the hang of it. They look forward to getting in lots of practice this coming winter.

CARRIE MCALEER, FPQPTM, CWS®

Senior Registered Practice Coordinator

The McAleer’s had a wonderful final few months of 2023, embracing the extended fall weather and unseasonably warm temperatures. Brody was thrilled to be a T-Rex for Halloween and loved running from house to house collecting candy. In November, Carrie’s brother and family traveled from Cincinnati to Bozeman for Thanksgiving. Delicious food, laughter, and time with older cousins made for a wonderful visit. In early December, Finley turned one and soon after began walking. The family is doing their best to keep up with her and ensure the house is fully toddler proof. The McAleer’s drove to Idaho to spend Christmas with Jon’s family and greatly enjoyed their time there. They were able to make it home in time to see Carrie’s oldest brother and family, visiting from Arizona, and ring in the New Year in Bozeman.

KAYLEE REYNOLDS

Client Associate

This quarter has been full of football, friends, and family. Kaylee and Tanner went to many Cats football games and even made their way over to Missoula for Cat Griz. The holiday season has been busy, but they have enjoyed seeing family in Butte, Helena, and Billings. It was magical to get a white Christmas, and while they have enjoyed the mild winter, they are ready to get out and hit the slopes. They were happily married in Mexico January 11th and are looking forward to all that married life has to offer.
